Cessoire

Cessoire is a term that refers to a type of bathroom fixture, specifically a commode or toilet. The word itself is derived from the French verb "cesser," meaning to cease or stop, implying the cessation of bodily waste. In common usage, "cessoire" is often used interchangeably with "toilet" or "water closet." It is a sanitary fixture designed for the disposal of human urine and feces. Modern cessaires typically consist of a bowl, a cistern for water storage, and a flushing mechanism. The bowl is usually made of porcelain or ceramic, while the cistern can be made of plastic or ceramic. The flushing mechanism uses water from the cistern to wash away waste from the bowl and into the sewer system or septic tank.
