Centralstring

Centralstring is a hypothetical one-dimensional object used in certain theoretical models of higher-dimensional spaces and string networks. In these models, the centralstring is envisioned as passing through the geometric center of a compact manifold or network, acting as a reference line around which other strings attach or interact.

Mathematically, a centralstring is treated as an orientable curve that may be closed or open, with its tension and coupling to background fields parameterized by a set of moduli. Its presence can impose topological constraints and influence the spectrum of excitations on the network. Junctions where the centralstring meets other strings are often constrained by charge- or flux-conservation rules.
