The Boston Celtics are a professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference, Atlantic Division. The franchise was founded in 1946 by Walter A. Brown and is one of the league's most storied and successful teams. The Celtics play their home games at the TD Garden, having moved there in 1995 from the Boston Garden. The team's colors are green and white, and their logo features a leprechaun.
