Celldynamik is a term used to describe the study of dynamic processes in cells over time. Depending on context, it can refer to the intrinsic dynamics of individual cells or to the emergent behavior of cell populations as they migrate, divide, differentiate, and respond to signals. The concept overlaps with cell biology, systems biology, and bioengineering, and is sometimes used as a catch-all for research focused on temporal patterns in cellular behavior.

Researchers in celldynamik employ a range of methods to capture and analyze dynamics. Live-cell imaging and time-lapse microscopy track movements, shape changes, and morphological transitions. Quantitative image analysis extracts trajectories, speeds, and morphometrics. Single-cell omics links molecular states to dynamic phenotypes, while computational modeling—including ordinary differential equations, stochastic simulations, and agent-based models—explores causal relationships and predictability.
