Catananche
Catananche is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, commonly known as pincushion flowers or Cupid's darts. These plants are native to the Mediterranean region, with most species found in southern Europe and North Africa. They are herbaceous perennials or annuals, typically growing to a height of 30-60 cm. Catananche species are characterized by their papery, involucral bracts that surround a central disc of ray florets. The flowers are usually blue, purple, or white and are often solitary or borne in loose clusters.
The most well-known species is Catananche caerulea, the blue cupid's dart, which is widely cultivated as an
