Cartonboard
Cartonboard is a generic term for paperboard used to manufacture folding cartons and similar packaging. It is a solid, printable material that comes in light- to medium-weight grades and is designed to be scored and folded without cracking. Cartonboard can be made from virgin fiber, recycled fiber, or a combination, and may be uncoated or coated on one or both sides to improve printing quality, stiffness, and barrier properties. Common variants include white cartonboard, which provides a bright surface for high-quality graphics, and coated boards that accept gloss or matte finishes and sometimes barrier coatings.
