Ca2niveauer
Ca2niveauer refers to the concentration of calcium ions in a biological system, most commonly within the human body. Calcium is an essential mineral with a wide range of physiological functions, playing a critical role in bone health, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, blood clotting, and enzyme activity. The level of calcium in the blood, known as serum calcium, is tightly regulated by hormones, primarily parathyroid hormone (PTH) and calcitonin, along with vitamin D.
Normal serum calcium levels are maintained within a narrow range, typically between 8.5 and 10.2 milligrams
Hypercalcemia, conversely, is characterized by high serum calcium levels. Common causes include overactive parathyroid glands (hyperparathyroidism),
