CV90

The CV90, also known as Combat Vehicle 90, is a Swedish-designed infantry fighting vehicle developed by Hägglunds. It entered service with the Swedish Army in 1991. The CV90 is a versatile platform designed for modern battlefield conditions, intended to transport infantry squads while providing them with significant firepower and protection. Its modular design allows for various configurations to meet different mission requirements.

Key features of the CV90 include its advanced armor protection, which can be upgraded to defeat various threats. It is typically armed with a 30mm autocannon and a coaxial machine gun, with some variants mounting a 35mm or even a 105mm gun. The vehicle is powered by a diesel engine, offering good mobility and operational range. It is crewed by three personnel: a commander, gunner, and driver, and can carry up to eight infantry soldiers.

Over the years, the CV90 has undergone several upgrades and has been exported to several countries, including Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. These export customers have often introduced their own modifications and specific equipment to tailor the vehicles to their operational needs. The CV90 has seen combat in various international operations.
