CRPtasoja is a lesser-known cryptocurrency project that emerged in the early 2010s, primarily as a fork of Litecoin (LTC). The name "CRPtasoja" is a playful pun combining "cryptocurrency" with the Finnish word *tasoja*, meaning "layers" or "levels," reflecting its layered blockchain approach. The project was designed to offer faster transaction confirmations and lower fees compared to Bitcoin, leveraging Litecoin’s underlying codebase while introducing minor modifications.

CRPtasoja operates on a proof-of-work (PoW) consensus mechanism, utilizing the Scrypt algorithm, similar to Litecoin.
