CO2seoksia is a Finnish term describing gas mixtures in which carbon dioxide (CO2) is a major component. The term encompasses mixtures with CO2 concentrations ranging from a few percent up to near-pure CO2 and includes both naturally occurring gas blends and laboratory or industrial streams.

Physical properties: In CO2-containing mixtures, properties are influenced by temperature, pressure, and the presence of other gases. CO2 has a critical point at about 31.0°C and 7.38 MPa, and mixtures often show non-ideal behavior and complex phase equilibria, including vapor-liquid and supercritical regimes. The composition and state of the mixture determine solubility, density, and transport properties.

Occurrence and sources: Natural CO2-rich gas reservoirs, volcanic and geothermal gases, and man-made streams such as combustion flue gases, fermentation exhaust, and gas-mixture streams used for inerting or enhanced oil recovery.
