CH3ryhmän
CH3ryhmän, often written as CH3 group, is a fundamental chemical substituent in organic chemistry. It consists of a carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms. This methyl group is one of the simplest alkyl groups. Its chemical formula is CH3. The carbon atom in a methyl group is typically sp3 hybridized, forming single covalent bonds with the hydrogen atoms and with the rest of the molecule it is attached to.
The presence of a methyl group can significantly influence the physical and chemical properties of a molecule.
Methyl groups are ubiquitous in organic molecules, forming the backbone of many simple hydrocarbons like methane
