Címsorral, also known as *headscarf* or *hijab* in English, is a traditional garment worn by many women in various cultures, particularly in Islamic societies. The term originates from Hungarian, where *cím* means "head" and *sorral* means "to cover." While it is most commonly associated with Muslim women as a religious practice, its use extends across different cultures and contexts.

In Islamic tradition, the hijab is considered a form of modesty, with its origins traced to the Quranic verse (24:31) encouraging women to draw their outer garments over their bodies and veils over their chests. However, interpretations and styles of the hijab vary widely, ranging from loose, draped fabrics to more structured head coverings. In Hungary, the term *címsorral* is occasionally used to describe a simple headscarf or veil, though it is not a widespread practice.
