Burstbilder, also known as burst mode or continuous shooting, is a feature found on many digital cameras and smartphones that allows users to capture a rapid sequence of images with a single press of the shutter button. This mode is particularly useful for photographing fast-moving subjects, such as athletes in action, wildlife, or children playing, as it increases the likelihood of capturing the perfect moment.

When burst mode is activated, the camera continuously takes pictures at a high frame rate, typically ranging from a few frames per second to over twenty frames per second, depending on the device's capabilities. The duration of the burst can vary, with some cameras allowing for longer sequences than others. This rapid shooting allows for the selection of the sharpest and most well-timed photograph from the series.
