Buesveising

Buesveising is a group of welding processes that use an electric arc to create heat and melt the workpieces together. The arc is formed between an electrode and the workpiece. In many arc welding processes, a filler material is also added to the joint to improve the strength and integrity of the weld. This filler material is typically a metal wire or rod.

The most common types of arc welding include Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). SMAW, often called stick welding, uses a consumable electrode coated in flux. GMAW, or MIG welding, uses a continuously fed wire electrode and a shielding gas to protect the weld pool. GTAW, or TIG welding, uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode and a separate filler rod, with a shielding gas protecting the weld. FCAW is similar to MIG welding but uses a tubular electrode filled with flux.

Arc welding is used in a wide variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, automotive repair, and shipbuilding. The choice of specific arc welding process depends on factors such as the type of metals being joined, the thickness of the materials, the required weld quality, and the welding environment. Safety precautions are crucial when arc welding, including the use of personal protective equipment like welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing to guard against intense light, heat, and spatter.
