Budjovice

Budějovice, officially České Budějovice, is a city in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic and the region’s capital. It lies on the Vltava River in the southern part of the country, about 170 kilometers south of Prague. The city has a population of around 68,000 to 70,000 residents and serves as an administrative, economic, and cultural center for South Bohemia.

Historically, České Budějovice was founded in 1265 by King Ottokar II of Bohemia as a royal town.
