Bubbletip

Bubbletip refers to a common type of anemone found in marine aquariums. These are typically species from the genus *Entacmaea* and are known for their distinctive bulbous tips on their tentacles. Bubbletip anemones are popular among reef tank hobbyists due to their vibrant colors and their symbiotic relationship with clownfish. They come in various colors, including green, pink, red, and purple.

These anemones are sessile, meaning they attach themselves to a substrate in the aquarium. They require specific conditions to thrive, including moderate to high lighting, good water flow, and stable water parameters. Salinity, temperature, and alkalinity are particularly important for their health. Like other anemones, bubbletips can move around the aquarium, often seeking out a suitable location to anchor themselves.

The symbiotic relationship with clownfish is a key attraction for aquarists. Clownfish host within the anemone's tentacles, gaining protection from predators. In return, the clownfish may help keep the anemone clean and provide it with food. Bubbletip anemones are carnivorous and will feed on small fish and invertebrates if offered. Reproduction in captivity can occur through budding or splitting, where a single anemone divides into two or more. Care should be taken when handling bubbletips, as their stinging tentacles can cause irritation to the skin.
