Bthorisonis
Bthorisonis is a hypothetical genus of extinct marine reptiles, theorized to have existed during the Late Triassic period. While no direct fossil evidence definitively attributed to Bthorisonis has been discovered, its existence is inferred from certain unique geological formations and the potential evolutionary links between known Triassic marine fauna. The name Bthorisonis is derived from ancient Greek and Latin, roughly translating to "thorny tooth bearer," a speculative description based on the interpretation of trace fossils that might suggest unusual dentition.
The proposed environment for Bthorisonis would have been shallow, warm marine waters, characteristic of many Late
