Brochures

A brochure is a small printed or digital publication used to present information about a company, organization, event, or product. Typically designed to be distributed widely, brochures aim to inform, persuade, or both, and rely on concise text, clear headings, and visuals to convey key messages.

Common formats include bi-fold and tri-fold sheets, but brochures can also be gatefolds or single-page leaflets. Sizes typically range from letter or A4 sheet folded into halves or thirds. Design emphasizes branding, legibility, and a balance between text and imagery. Elements include a cover with logo, sections with headings, bullet lists, photographs or illustrations, and a clear call to action.

Production considerations include paper stock, finish (gloss, satin, matte), and printing method (offset or digital). Folding, scoring, and binding are important for durability and usability. Distribution channels include direct mail, in-store displays, events, and handouts at meetings.

Digital brochures replicate the format in interactive formats such as PDFs or online flipbooks, often with hyperlinks, embedded video, and downloadable content. They enable wider reach and easy updating but require access to devices and considerations for accessibility, such as readable type and alternative text for images.

Historically, brochures evolved from pamphlets and leaflets used for commercial and public information. Modern brochures are used across industries to present services, products, or programs succinctly and professionally, and are often complemented by other marketing materials and digital media.
