BrixWertes refer to the sugar content of a liquid as indicated on the Brix scale, usually expressed in degrees Brix (°Bx). One degree Brix corresponds to 1 gram of sucrose in 100 grams of solution at a reference temperature of 20 °C. The Brix value is commonly determined with a refractometer, which estimates sugar concentration from the solution’s refractive index. Because refractive index is temperature dependent, readings are corrected to a standard temperature or adjusted with a temperature correction.
