The basic principle of most modern braking systems involves hydraulic pressure. When the driver presses the brake pedal, it activates a master cylinder. ABS is an electronic safety system that prevents the wheels from locking up during heavy braking, allowing the driver to maintain steering control. Other advanced braking technologies include electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and brake assist, which further enhance braking performance and safety.
