Boringsanker

Boringsanker, or drilled anchor, is a type of structural anchor used in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. It is installed by drilling a borehole into rock, soil, or concrete and placing an anchorage element such as a steel bar or tube that is secured with grout or resin. With a grouted anchor, the borehole is cleaned, the anchor is inserted, and grout is pumped to fill the annulus, bonding the anchor to the surrounding material and providing tensile resistance. Resin anchors use epoxy or polyester resins injected into the hole before inserting the anchor; the resin cures and forms a bond around the anchor. Mechanical anchors (expansion or wedge anchors) may be used in easy-to-drill materials. In rock applications, the technique is known as rock drilling anchors or rock bolts.

Common applications include stabilization of slopes, rock supports for tunnels and excavations, anchoring retaining structures, and securing heavy equipment or pipelines. They can be installed with temporary or permanent loads. Design depends on rock mass quality, hole diameter, grout type, and anchor length; installation is followed by load testing such as pull-out or proof tests. Materials: corrosion-resistant steel or stainless steel; protective coatings; grout materials such as cementitious grout or epoxy resins. Advantages include high strength with relatively small excavation, adaptability to complex geologies, and adjustable load capacity through length and grout. Limitations include reliance on proper drilling and grouting, potential degradation due to corrosion, and the need for detailed design and monitoring.
