Bordetellarelated
Bordetellarelated is an adjectival term used to describe organisms, infections, molecular sequences, or ecological and clinical phenomena associated with the bacterial genus Bordetella. The genus comprises several Gram-negative, aerobic coccobacilli, several of which are important pathogens in humans and animals. Notable species include Bordetella pertussis, the primary agent of whooping cough in humans; Bordetella parapertussis, which can cause a milder pertussis-like illness; Bordetella bronchiseptica, commonly associated with respiratory disease in animals and occasional human infections; and emerging or less common species such as Bordetella holmesii.
Bordetellarelated topics cover taxonomy and phylogeny, virulence factors such as pertussis toxin and adenylate cyclase toxin,
Research into Bordetellarelated subjects includes vaccine development and optimization, antibiotic resistance monitoring, molecular epidemiology, and host–pathogen
