Blue1Blue4

Blue1Blue4 is a digital art project and open-source software framework initiated in 2020 by the artist collective Neon Grid. It centers on two concurrent generative streams named Blue1 and Blue4, which drive the production of blue-toned visuals and ambient audio. The output includes still images, looping animations, and interactive web experiments.

The project is designed to explore color theory, data visualization metaphors, and the aesthetics of procedural generation. The name reflects the two primary streams and a code-like syntax, rather than representing a fixed motif. The work emphasizes reproducibility and accessibility, with code and assets released under an open license.

Technical approach: A modular engine written in JavaScript and GLSL shaders renders in real time within web browsers. Blue1 and Blue4 parameters control color saturation, brightness, noise, and texture, enabling a range from minimal to richly textured visuals. The framework also supports audio synthesis to produce synchronized ambience.
