Blomstringen

Blomstringen is a term used in Nordic horticulture and botany to denote the flowering period of a plant or a plant community. The word derives from Swedish blomstring (flowering) with the definite article suffix -en, and is cognate with Norwegian blomstringen and Danish blomstringen. In botanical contexts, blomstringen refers to the phase during which flowers develop and mature, often used in phenological observations to mark peak bloom or the onset of flowering across a landscape. The exact timing varies by species, climate, altitude, and year; for many temperate shrubs and deciduous trees, blomstringen occurs in spring, but some species may bloom in early summer or autumn.
