BleiIIselenid

BleiIIselenid, also known as lead(II) selenide or PbSe, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula PbSe. It is a semiconductor material belonging to the metal chalcogenide family. PbSe crystallizes in a rock-salt cubic structure, similar to sodium chloride. At room temperature, it is a gray solid. Its electronic band gap is approximately 0.27 electronvolts, classifying it as a narrow-bandgap semiconductor.

This compound is known for its optical properties, particularly its absorption of infrared radiation. This characteristic makes it useful in infrared detectors and photodetectors. BleiIIselenid has been investigated for applications in thermoelectric devices, where it can convert heat energy into electrical energy and vice versa.
