Blasenwachstum
Blasenwachstum is a German term that can refer to two different phenomena, depending on context. It is not a precise medical diagnosis by itself. In dermatology, Blasenwachstum may describe the enlargement or formation of vesicles (Blasen) on the skin or mucous membranes. Blisters arise from friction, burns, chemical irritation, infections such as herpes simplex or varicella-zoster, or autoimmune diseases such as pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. The term also covers the progression of blistering lesions. Diagnosis is clinical, sometimes supported by swabs, biopsies, or cultures to identify infection or immune-mediated causes. Treatment focuses on removing or reducing irritation, protecting the skin, and addressing the underlying cause. Depending on severity, topical corticosteroids, antiseptics, antivirals, or systemic therapy may be used. Complications include rupture, secondary infection, and scarring.
In urology, Blasenwachstum can refer to growth of tissue within the urinary bladder, including bladder tumors.
