The form is derived from biomechanical, itself from bio- (life) and mechanical, and the noun biomechanics, with the adverbial suffix -ly. In literature, biomechanically indicates that a statement or measurement is interpreted according to mechanical principles such as forces, moments, stresses, and material properties of tissues.
