In this application, materials like poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) are often used due to their biodegradability and ability to control drug release.

The development of new biomaterials is an active area of research, with scientists and engineers continually exploring new materials and techniques to improve the performance and biocompatibility of medical devices. This includes the use of nanomaterials, which have unique properties that can enhance the functionality of biomaterials, as well as the development of smart biomaterials that can respond to changes in their environment.
