In practice, users may search catalogs, view thumbnails, and, where permitted, download metadata or full-resolution images. Bildarchive often rely on digital asset management (DAM) systems to integrate image storage with descriptions, workflows and reuse rights, and they may offer APIs or advanced search interfaces.
