Bestückungsform refers to the method or process by which components are placed onto a printed circuit board (PCB). It is a crucial aspect of PCB manufacturing, influencing assembly speed, cost, and the reliability of the final product.

There are two primary types of component mounting: through-hole technology (THT) and surface-mount technology (SMT). THT involves components with leads that are inserted through holes drilled in the PCB and then soldered to pads on the opposite side. This method offers robust mechanical strength and is suitable for larger, heavier components or those requiring high current capacity.

SMT, on the other hand, involves components with leads or terminals that are soldered directly onto the surface of the PCB pads. SMT components are typically smaller and allow for higher component density on the board. This technology is widely used in modern electronics due to its efficiency and cost-effectiveness, enabling automated assembly processes like pick-and-place machines.

The choice of bestückungsform depends on various factors, including the type and size of components, the required electrical performance, mechanical stress considerations, and the overall cost objectives of the product.
