Benalmadena is a municipality in Andalusia, Spain, located on the Costa del Sol. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches, marina, and vibrant nightlife. The town is divided into three main areas: Benalmadena Pueblo, the original whitewashed village; Benalmadena Costa, the coastal strip with hotels and resorts; and Arroyo de la Miel, a more residential and commercial center.

The history of Benalmadena dates back to prehistoric times, with evidence of Roman and Moorish settlements. The town's name is believed to be derived from the Arabic "Benn al-Madina," meaning "son of the city."
