Bemetszéseket

Bemetszéseket refers to cuttings or slips taken from a plant for propagation. This is a common horticultural practice used to create new plants that are genetically identical to the parent plant. The process involves carefully selecting a healthy stem from the mother plant, typically one that is actively growing but not flowering, and then cutting it at a specific point. This cut is usually made just below a leaf node, the point on the stem where leaves emerge.

The severed stem cutting is then prepared for rooting. This often involves removing the lower leaves to expose the stem and reduce water loss through transpiration. Sometimes, rooting hormone, a substance that encourages root development, is applied to the cut end. The prepared cutting is then planted in a suitable rooting medium, such as a mixture of perlite and peat moss, or simply water.

The key to successful bemetszéseket is providing the right conditions for root formation. This typically includes high humidity, warmth, and indirect light. With proper care, the cutting will develop roots and eventually grow into an independent, mature plant.
