Belüftersteinen
Belüftersteinen, often translated as aeration stones or diffusers, are devices used to introduce air or oxygen into a liquid. They are commonly found in aquarium setups to enhance the health and well-being of aquatic life by increasing dissolved oxygen levels. These stones are typically made from porous materials such as ceramic, sintered glass, or metal. When connected to an air pump, the air is forced through the microscopic pores of the stone, creating a stream of fine bubbles. This fine bubble diffusion maximizes the surface area for gas exchange, allowing oxygen to dissolve efficiently into the water.
Beyond aquariums, belüftersteinen have applications in other fields. In wastewater treatment, they are used in aeration
