Bebábozódás is a Hungarian term that describes a psychological and social phenomenon characterized by a gradual loss of individuality and critical thinking within a group or community. The concept is rooted in the idea that prolonged exposure to a dominant group culture, norms, or values can lead individuals to conform, suppress their unique perspectives, and adopt the behaviors, language, and attitudes of the majority. This process often occurs subtly and unconsciously, making it difficult for affected individuals to recognize the shift in their own identity.

The term originates from the Hungarian phrase "beba" (meaning "baby" or "infant") and "bózódás" (which implies a state of being softened or weakened). Together, it suggests a regression to a more dependent, less autonomous state, akin to childhood. Bebábozódás is frequently discussed in the context of urbanization, globalization, and the erosion of traditional rural or regional identities.
