Basisdruck
Basisdruck refers to a printing process used primarily in the textile industry. It is a form of direct printing where dyes or pigments are applied directly to the fabric surface. This method is characterized by its simplicity and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for large-scale production of textiles with repeating patterns. The process involves using printing screens, which are typically made of polyester mesh stretched over a frame. The pattern is created by blocking out areas of the mesh that should not receive ink, allowing the dye or pigment to pass through the open areas.
The printing paste, containing the colorant, binder, and other additives, is then squeegeed across the screen.
