Barbarossas
Barbarossas is a term that can refer to several different entities, most notably historical figures and fictional characters. The most famous Barbarossa was Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor, also known as Frederick Barbarossa. He reigned from 1155 until his death in 1190. His long beard, which gave him his nickname "Barbarossa" (meaning "red beard" in Italian), was a prominent feature. He was a significant figure in the Holy Roman Empire, attempting to restore its imperial authority and engaging in numerous conflicts, including the Investiture Controversy and campaigns in Italy. He also participated in the Third Crusade, during which he drowned in the Saleph River.
