Baptistiset

Baptistiset is the Finnish term used to describe Baptists or Baptist churches and the movement associated with them. The term denotes a religious tradition that emerged in the 17th century within the English Reformation and spread internationally. In Finnish usage, it encompasses both the beliefs of individual Baptists and the identities of Baptist congregations.

Core principles commonly associated with Baptistiset include believer’s baptism by immersion, the autonomy of each local church, and the authority of Scripture. Baptism is viewed as a public profession of faith by consenting believers, rather than a means of grace for infants.
