Bandmönstret

Bandmönstret is a Swedish hip‑hop duo that emerged from the Stockholm music scene in 2014. The group is composed of members Anders Johansson, who performs under the alias Band, and Mikael Eriksson, known as Mönstret. Both artists have backgrounds in dance music production and early rap, which they amalgamated to create a distinctive sound that blends melodic hooks with rhythmic rap verses.

The duo released their debut EP, Systaför, in 2015, which drew attention for its use of traditional Swedish folk motifs and contemporary trap beats. Their follow‑up album, Solsikte, reached number 12 on the Swedish Albums Chart in 2017 and earned them a nomination for Swedish Urban Music Award for Best New Hip‑Hop Group. A series of singles such as "Stöva" and "Klimax" entered the national singles chart, solidifying Bandmönstret’s presence on mainstream radio and streaming platforms.

Bandmönstret is recognised for socially conscious lyrics that address topics ranging from urban identity to mental health. Their lyrical style often juxtaposes personal narratives with broader commentary on Swedish society. The duo has performed at major festivals, including Stockholm Pride and the South by Southwest festival in 2019, and has toured across Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.

In 2022, the pair announced the release of their third studio project, Interaktiva, which incorporates electronic elements and features collaborations with artists such as DJ Qbert and vocalist Emma Larsson. They continue to develop their presence through live performances and digital releases, maintaining a consistent presence in the Swedish urban music landscape.
