Baluran

Baluran is a national park located on the northeastern tip of Java, Indonesia, in Situbondo Regency, East Java. It is known for its expansive savanna landscape, often referred to as "Little Africa" due to its resemblance to African plains. The park covers an area of approximately 25,750 hectares, encompassing a diverse range of ecosystems including monsoon forest, mangrove forest, and the characteristic savanna.

The savanna is the dominant feature of Baluran, characterized by dry grasslands dotted with acacia trees and thorny bushes. This environment supports a variety of wildlife, including banteng (wild cattle), deer, wild pigs, and a rich bird population. Within the park, Mount Baluran, a dormant volcano, stands as a prominent landmark, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the sea.
