BYMV
Barley yellow mosaic virus, often abbreviated as BYMV, is a plant pathogenic virus belonging to the genus Bymovirus. It primarily affects barley (Hordeum vulgare) and can also infect other cereal crops such as wheat and oats. BYMV is transmitted by a fungal vector, Polymyxa graminis, which lives in the soil. The virus can persist in the soil for extended periods, making eradication difficult.
Infected plants typically exhibit yellowing symptoms, particularly in the leaves, which can range from pale green
BYMV can cause significant economic losses in barley-producing regions. Management strategies focus on reducing the spread
