BMSohjauksella
BMSohjauksella, or BMS-ohjauksella in Finnish, refers to a design and operating principle in which a battery management system (BMS) serves as the primary control authority for a connected system or subsystem. In this approach the BMS uses its sensing and safety features to govern charging, discharging and power routing, rather than relying on separate subsystems to manage these tasks. The BMS continually monitors cell voltages, temperatures, currents, and impedance, and it estimates state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH). Based on this data it can initiate protection actions, set charging limits, balance individual cells, and open or close contactors to isolate the battery if a fault is detected.
The BMS communicates with higher-level controllers, such as a vehicle control unit or energy management system,
Challenges associated with BMSohjauksella include ensuring the reliability of sensors and communications, addressing cybersecurity and firmware
