Autorizat

Autorizat is an adjective in Romanian that means “authorized” or “permitted.” It derives from the verb a autoriza (to authorize) and the past participle autorizat. The term is used to indicate that a person, document, activity, or organization has received formal permission from a competent authority and complies with the relevant rules or conditions.

In practice, autorizat is applied in various contexts. A person can be described as a “persoană autorizată” when they have been granted authority to act on behalf of another person or organization, for example as a representative, agent, or professional in a regulated field. An entity may be called an “unitate autorizată” or “entitate autorizată” if it is licensed to perform specific activities, such as handling regulated processes, providing services, or issuing official documents. Likewise, a procedure or product can be labeled as autorizat when it has met the required standards or received formal clearance.

Many activities require an “autorizație” or “autorizare” issued by public authorities. Examples include construction permits, safety approvals, health-related licenses, or professional certifications. A document or operation described as autorizat signals compliance with applicable laws and conditions and is often contrasted with neautorizat (unauthorized) or ilegal (illegal).
