Autograftin

Autograftin is a term that refers to the process of transplanting tissue or an organ from one site to another within the same individual. The primary advantage of an autograft is that it eliminates the risk of immune rejection, as the recipient's immune system will not recognize the graft as foreign.

The success of an autograft depends on several factors, including the health of the donor site, the viability of the graft, and adequate blood supply to the recipient site. Post-operative care is crucial to ensure proper healing and integration of the graft. While generally considered safe, autografting is not without its limitations. The availability of suitable donor tissue can be a constraint, and there is always a risk of complications at both the donor and recipient sites.
