Ausrichter

Ausrichter is the German term for the organizer or host of an event or competition. The Ausrichter can be an individual, a club, an association, a company, or a public institution and may operate at local, national, or international levels. The role is to plan, finance, and conduct the event and to ensure that it runs according to its rules.

The responsibilities include selecting and preparing the venue, arranging logistics (staff, security, catering, transportation), coordinating with sponsors, media, and authorities, handling registrations and participation rules, and managing risk, insurance, and safety requirements. The Ausrichter is also typically responsible for the official communications, scheduling, prize distribution, and adherence to applicable laws and governing bodies' regulations.

In sports contexts, the Ausrichter is the host organization of a tournament or competition and may be credited as the event's organizer in results and official documents. The term is closely related to but sometimes distinguished from Veranstalter, which is a more general term for the organizer or promoter of an event; Ausrichter emphasizes hosting of the event, particularly in a formal competition.
