Atrofiskas

Atrofiskas is a coastal municipality in the fictional nation of Veridia, located on the western shore of the Veridian Sea. The town covers about 36 square kilometers and has a population of roughly 12,500.

The name Atrofiskas derives from early Veridian terms meaning "rocky fishing ground," reflecting its origin as a harbor for fishermen.

The landscape features a protected natural harbor and rocky shoreline. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters and cool summers; annual precipitation around 700 mm.

Founded in the 12th century as a fishing village, Atrofiskas grew through shipbuilding in the 18th and 19th centuries. It joined the Veridian Confederation in the 1860s.

It is governed by a municipal council led by a mayor. The economy centers on fishing, fish processing, boatbuilding, and coastal tourism.

The population is predominantly Veridian-speaking, with a local dialect; religious makeup is diverse. Cultural life centers on the Coastal Festival and the seafood market.
