Atoopilise

Atoopilise is an Estonian adjective meaning "atopic" and is used to describe conditions associated with atopy, a genetic predisposition to developing allergic diseases. In medical usage, atoopiline describes diseases or symptoms linked to the atopic state, most notably atopic dermatitis. The term is borrowed from the English "atopic," which denotes a tendency to mount IgE-mediated responses to common environmental allergens.

Atopy encompasses a range of related conditions, including skin and respiratory diseases. In practice, atoopiline dermatiit refers to atopic dermatitis, a chronic inflammatory skin condition that typically causes itchiness and recurrent rashes. Diagnosis is primarily clinical, based on history and examination; laboratory tests such as IgE measurement may be used selectively to support evaluation.

Management aims to restore and protect the skin barrier and reduce inflammation. Common approaches include regular use of emollients, avoidance of irritants, and the use of topical corticosteroids or calcineurin inhibitors. In more severe cases, phototherapy or systemic therapies may be considered under specialist care.

The course of atopic diseases is often relapsing, with improvement in some individuals during childhood and persistence or evolution of symptoms in others.
