Astrologiaa is not a standard term in contemporary scholarship and is generally regarded as a misspelling or variant of astrology. In most sources, the field is referred to as astrology (astrología in Spanish) and involves the study of purported influences of celestial bodies on human lives and world events. When encountered, astrologiaa is typically treated as a typographical error rather than a distinct discipline.

Astrology is a tradition rather than a scientific theory. Practitioners often use a chart calculated for a specific time and place, known as a natal or birth chart, to infer personality traits, tendencies, and potential life events. Key elements include the zodiac signs, the positions of the sun, moon, and planets, the twelve astrological houses, and the aspects—the angular relationships between planets. Techniques and interpretations vary, but common goals include guidance on personality, relationships, career, and timing.

Across cultures, astrology has multiple forms. Western astrology emphasizes planetary rulerships and psychological interpretation, Vedic or Jyotisha astrology focuses on planetary cycles and timing, and Chinese astrology uses a cyclical system based on a year-sign and five elements. These systems can share concepts but differ in techniques, symbolism, and calendar frameworks.

Critical perspectives note that astrology lacks empirical support and does not meet the standards of testable scientific theories. It is often categorized as a pseudoscience or belief system, though it remains influential in cultural, literary, and personal contexts.

Historically, astrological ideas appear in ancient Mesopotamia, were developed in Hellenistic Greece, and persisted through the medieval and early modern periods. In contemporary society, astrology survives primarily in popular media, personal consultations, and spiritual practices.
