Arville

Arville is a town and civil parish in Westmere County, Veridia. It is situated on the River Lerne, about 12 miles north of the regional capital, and covers 12.4 square kilometers. The population was approximately 4,600 at the 2020 census. The town center includes a historic market square and several preserved timber-framed buildings.

Arville dates to the 12th century and grew as a market town serving surrounding farms. The arrival of the railway in 1896 stimulated growth, with wool and timber trades forming early economic pillars. The postwar period brought expansions in services and housing, shaping the town into a mixed residential and commercial community.

Geography and economy: The area features rolling farmland with pockets of woodland and small streams. The local economy combines retail and services with light manufacturing and agricultural support, supported by a regional road network and proximity to larger employment centers.

Governance: Arville has a town council of nine members, within the Westmere District. It elects representatives to the Veridian Parliament and to county authorities, and it maintains local amenities such as parks, libraries, and community centers.

Education and culture: Arville Primary School serves children aged 4 to 11. For secondary education, students attend Windmere Academy in the neighboring town. The Arville History Society preserves local records, and cultural life centers on the May Market, seasonal fairs, and community sports.

Transport: Arville is linked by road via the A7 corridor and is served by regional bus routes. The nearest railway station is at Stonebridge, about 10 kilometers away, providing connections to larger urban areas.
