Aristotelia

Aristotelia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Elaeocarpaceae. It is native to New Zealand, where it is found in the wild. The genus is named after Aristotle Onassis, a Greek shipping magnate. However, its botanical naming predates Onassis's life.

The plants in this genus are shrubs or small trees, typically growing to a height of 5-6 meters. They have simple or compound leaves, often with a distinctive pinnate or palmate arrangement. The leaves are hard, leathery, and dark green in color. Aristotelia produces small, yellow or white flowers in racemes or panicles.
