Arhiveerituna

Arhiveerituna is an Estonian term that denotes the state of having been archived. It is a participial form derived from the verb arhiveerida (to archive) and the suffix -tuna, used to express a resulting or current state. The word functions as an adjective or a predicative descriptor and is commonly found in metadata, document management, and information systems.

In practice, arhiveerituna describes items that have been moved to an archive for long-term preservation and are typically not in active use. It is often used in user interfaces and records management to indicate that a document, record, or data set is stored in an archive, with restricted or read-only access. The term complements related concepts such as arhiveerimine (the act of archiving) and arhiiv (archive).

Although arhiveerituna and arhiveeritud both convey that something has been archived, they emphasize slightly different aspects. Arhiveeritud highlights the completed action of archiving, while arhiveerituna stresses the ongoing archival state of the item.

Examples of usage include: “Dokumendid on arhiveerituna” and “Failid arhiveerituna hoidlast on saadaval ainult lugemisena.” In professional contexts, arhiveerituna is part of standard metadata fields that describe the archival status of records within a records management system.
